OSU Softball: Cowgirls Rebound with 7-1 Win against Georgia Tech
The Cowgirls got right on the road.
After dropping their first two games in the Peach State, the Cowgirls bounced back in a big way.
No. 17 Oklahoma State defeated Georgia Tech 7-1 in Atlanta on Friday night.
It’s a good sign when your team rides its pitcher for seven innings while your opponent sends seven into the circle.
Ruby Meylan pitched a full game, not giving up a hit until the fifth inning and just three all day. She walked six but struck out four.

Kenny Gajewski tweaked his batting order which resulted in OSU’s highest run output in the last four games, starting with a 2-1 win over Baylor and back-to-back losses to start their Georgia trip.
The Cowboys got on the board in the top of the second thanks to an Audrey Schneidmiller ground out that scored Amanda Hasler. Then OSU made it 2-0 in the third when Tia Warsop (2-for-3) stole home plate.

Megan Bloodworth’s single in the fourth pushed the lead to 3-0. The Cowgirls left the Yellow Jackets in their dust with a three-run fifth inning.
It started with a Rosie Davis flyout that scored Tallen Edwards.
Then Hasler (2-for-3) doubled to left field to make it 5-0.

Then Megan Delgadillo’s sac fly scored Hasler.
The Yellow Jackets did finally get a hit in the fifth and then two more in the sixth, which resulted in their one run on the day. Meylan found herself in the first real trouble of the afternoon, but her defense bailed her out.
That was slick.

“Cheese” flied out again in the seventh, this time scoring Warsop to push the lead to 7-1, and the Cowgirls were able to secure the win.
With the win, the Cowgirls improve to 20-9. The win avoids OSU’s first three-game skid of the season. The Cowgirls lost to Georgia 8-4 in Athens on Wednesday and fell to Georgia Tech in the first game of this two-game series 6-4 on Thursday. They have one more game in Atlanta before they head West. The Cowgirls face Penn State at 10 a.m. Saturday before traveling to Tempe to face Arizona State Wednesday night.
