Former Virginia Tech Offensive Lineman Bob Schick Transferring to Oklahoma State

The Cowboys are continuing to bolster their offensive line after losing most of their experience from last season.

Bob Schick, a 6-foot-6, 304-pound lineman who has spent the past four seasons at Virginia Tech, is set to transfer to Oklahoma State, according to reports from 247Sports’ Chris Hummer and On3’s Pete Nakos.

Schick has started 23 games for the Hokies across the past two seasons. He played 502 snaps this past season, according to Pro Football Focus, in which Schick allowed no sacks and one quarterback hit. He primarily played at left guard in 2024 but also played some right guard in Virginia Tech’s bowl game against Minnesota.

All of Schick’s 2023 offensive snaps came at right guard, according to PFF, where he allowed one sack on 713 snaps.

Before his time in Blacksburg, Schick was a junior college All-American at Snow College in Utah, where he played tackle. He is from Midway, Utah and went on a two-year mission to Colombia following his high school graduation in 2018.

The Cowboys graduated just about all of their offensive line production from last season. Austin Kawecki’s 120 offensive snaps in 2024 leads all returners. To counter that inexperience, the Cowboys have hit the portal hard this offseason in search of O-linemen. Schick joins Kasen Carpenter (Tulsa), Lavaka Taukeiaho (Weber State), Louie Canepa (New Mexico State), Markell Samuel (Appalachian State) and Tyler Brumfield (Snow College) as transfer offensive linemen who have joined the Pokes this offseason.
