• If you’re looking for a player to be excited about on the rebuilt Cowboy Football squad, CBS Sports circled in on this one: 

(Zaquan) Patterson was a bright spot at Miami as a true freshman and made his first start for the Hurricanes in the Pop Tarts Bowl. However, Oklahoma State managed to lure him to Stillwater, where he should quickly become a star player in the secondary.

• The Pokes are after a couple of four-star guards (PFB)

• Cowboy Baseball and Cowgirl Softball had relative down years, but here’s a solid take after the Cowgirls missed their first World Series in a while and the Pokes aren’t hosting “a regional for the first time in four years.”

Neither team lived up to expectations, but there’s reason to believe their steps back are more an aberration than anything else.
