Cowboys Given Second-Lowest Odds to Win the Big 12 Title
The Cowboys have 50 to 1 odds to win the Big 12 crown.
A couple of years ago, the Cowboys were Arlington regulars. Now their chances of getting to the title game are more than a longshot.
BetMGM released updated Big 12 title odds this past weekend and Oklahoma State was tied with the second-lowest odds to bring home the hardware. The Cowboys were given +5000 odds to win the Big 12 Championship, the same as West Virginia and Arizona. The only program with longer odds was UCF at +6000.
If there is a silver lining for Cowboys fans, it’s that the league appears to have as much parity as any of the Power Four conferences. Add in the absolute fluidity that is college football in the age of the transfer portal, and it might be best to pull on a blindfold and throw a dart a list of schools.
On the other end of the spectrum (and underscoring that parity), five schools were given the best odds to win a trophy in Jerry World. Kansas State, Arizona State, Baylor, Texas Tech and Utah are all sitting at +600 odds to win it.
The Cowboys enter the fall with a completely retooled coaching staff and a largely reloaded roster. OSU went to two Big 12 Championship games in three years (2021 and 2023), but after an 0-9 conference finish last year, and all the questions about this fall’s roster, that most recent trip to Arlington feels like it was longer ago than just two years.
