Which Cowboys Have Been in Stillwater the Longest
Highlighting OSU’s longest-tenured players.
Much of the 2025 Cowboy football team is new, but the group does include a handful of players who were on the team when Oklahoma State beat Notre Dame in the Fiesta Bowl.
Here are the longest-tenured Cowboys on the 2025 roster.
Quinton Stewart — Year 6
The sole remaining member of Oklahoma State’s 2020 recruiting class, Quinton Stewart was on campus for the pandemic-shortened 2020 season.
A 6-foot-3, 250-pound tight end out of Salina, Kansas, Stewart was in a recruiting class that also featured the likes of Brennan Presley, Rashod Owens, Shane Illingworth, Korie Black, Dominic Richardson, Jabbar Muhammad, Mason Cobb and others. That’s how long he’s been in Stilly.
After redshirting in 2020, Stewart took part in two games during the Cowboys’ Fiesta Bowl-winning 2021 season, including OSU’s Bedlam win. He played in 11 of the Cowboys’ games in 2022. Stewart made his first career catch that season — a two-yard touchdown against OU in Norman.

Stewart has been an Academic All-Big 12 honoree the past two seasons, where he has played in every OSU game.
Cam Smith — Year 5
A 6-foot, 200-pound corner, Cam Smith joined the Cowboys for that Fiesta Bowl-winning 2021 season, playing in a pair of games while maintaining a redshirt.
He’s played in every OSU game the past three seasons, and in his career to this point, he’s made 83 tackles, four tackles for loss, two interceptions, 13 pass breakups and a forced fumble.
He started three times as a redshirt freshman in 2022 and has started all 26 of the Cowboys’ games the past two seasons. The 29 starts he enters 2025 with are by far the most on this year’s team.
He hailed from Denton-Braswell High School and chose Oklahoma State over offers from Kansas State, SMU, Utah, Northwestern, Vanderbilt and others.
Kale Smith — Year 5
Kale and Cam aren’t related, but they are both corners who joined the Cowboys in that 2021 class.
A Midwest City Bomber, Kale didn’t have the most grandiose offer sheet coming out of high school, but he is proof that doesn’t always matter.
After redshirting in the 2021 season, Smith took part in three games as a redshirt freshman in 2022 and has played in all 26 of the Cowboys’ games the past two years.
He’s made 55 career tackles to go with a tackle for loss, an interception and five pass breakups. He housed that interception 73 yards against Arkansas last season — a score that turned the tides of that game.

Parker Robertson — Year 5
From walk-on to team captain, it’s been an incredible career for safety Parker Robertson.
He walked-on to the Cowboys’ 2021 team. He redshirted that year but then played in 12 of OSU’s 13 games in 2022 as a redshirt freshman. He made seven tackles that year and was the Cowboys’ Special Teams Player of the Week against Iowa State.
Robertson continued to ascend in 2023, finishing the year with 12 tackles and a game-changing fumble recovery. With OSU trailing West Virginia in the fourth quarter in Morgantown, Robertson fell on a muffed punt after running his blocker into the return man. The Cowboys would score and go on to win that game. He was the Pokes’ Special Teams Player of the Week against WVU and Central Arkansas in 2023.
His teammates voted Robertson a team captain last year, a year in which he started to get some more run on defense. He made 49 tackles last season, including two tackles for loss. He also intercepted a pair of passes, the first against BYU and the other against Texas Tech.
Raymond Gay II — Year 5
A 5-foot-10 corner from Dallas, Raymond Gay II has taken part in 37 games since the 2021 season.
He’s made 19 tackles in that time, including a career-high 10 in 2024.
Gay is a two-time Academic All-Big 12 Team selection, earning a spot on the first team in 2022 and the second team in 2023.
Coming out of Red Oak, Gay played offense and defense in high school and picked OSU over offers from Rice, Jackson State (in the Prime days), Yale and others.
Aden Kelley — Year 5
The pride of the Thomas Terriers, defensive tackle Aden Kelley enters Year 5 at 6-foot-3, 315 pounds.
He played in eight games across his first two seasons on campus, where he made five tackles, including a tackle for loss. Four of those tackles came in OSU’s 2022 matchup with Arkansas-Pine Bluff.
Kelley has played in 23 games across the past two seasons, playing both special teams and defense. He makes a heck of a personal projector for the OSU punters.
He was a four-star prospect in the 2021 recruiting class, with 247Sports listing Kelley as the No. 190 player in the country. He picked the Pokes over offers from Nebraska, TCU, Iowa State, Illinois, Minnesota, SMU and others.
Logan Ward — Year 5
Out of Deer Creek, specialist Logan Ward has done a little bit of everything when it comes to putting his foot to the pigskin for the Cowboys.
After redshirting in 2021, Ward kicked off 39 times during the Cowboys’ 2022 season — totaling 2,430 yards and 13 touchbacks. After punter Tom Hutton went down with injury, Ward filled in there, punting 37 times for 1,665 yards. That 45-yard average would have ranked in the 25 nationally had Ward had enough punts to qualify. He also made three tackles that year.
Ward continued his kickoff duties in 2023, booting 85 balls downfield and totaling 5,311 yards. He took over as the Cowboys’ PAT kicker late in the year and went 7-for-7.
Ward took over OSU’s placekicking duties in 2024, going 12-for-17 on the year while also going 34-for-35 on extra points. In total, he accounted for 70 of OSU’s 326 points on the year. Ollie Gordon was the only Cowboy to score more.
