• My take on the QB? Hauss Hejny’s gig to lose. I think it killed Mike Gundy to not run the ball well last year and Hejny’s elite legs will get the Cowboys there.
EA Sports has Hejny as the fourth-fastest QB in college football  (really, he’s tied for the second fastest) (X)

• Boone Pickens Stadium was rated the best college football stadium in America by a USA Today article pulling from various sources – could you imagine telling an OSU football fan in 1995 that an unbiased third party would come to that conclusion? (PFB)

• This article looking at where Cowboys are at on pro depth charts (as of this week) was insightful – kind of wild that Ollie Gordon is fourth in line (PFB)

• I don’t know what kind of pressure environments exist in the Big Sky Conference, but transfer kicker Gabe Panikowski sounds solid. 

Last year, Panikowski made 15-of-15 field-goal attempts, including a walk-off kick with Idaho State against Cal Poly and a career-high 55-yarder against Northern Arizona.

• I like this question (and possible answer) from GoPokes 247: 

How many games do we have to win for Gundy to be kept?

I’ve been saying all offseason that the football team needs to reach six wins and a bowl game for Gundy to be fully secure. All-in-all, the Oklahoma State coaching staff needs to show that they’re on an upward trajectory for the future.

There’s definitely a path to winning six games with this roster and this schedule, though it’ll be difficult.
