A look at some of this weekend’s best games.
Here comes another full weekend of college football.
Oklahoma State plays No. 6 Oregon at 2:30 p.m. (CT) Saturday in Eugene, but let’s take a look at some other big games from around the Big 12 and the country.
Big 12 Schedule

The Big 12 probably has the best Week 2 slate of all the conferences.
It kicks off on FOX with the Cy-Hawk game between Iowa State and Iowa. After the Hawkeyes went on a six-game winning streak in the series between 2015 and 2021, Iowa State has won two of the past three, including last year’s meeting in Iowa City. After an impressive Week 0 win against Kansas State in Ireland, the Cyclones kicked the crud out of South Dakota last weekend, winning 55-7. Iowa, with South Dakota State transfer quarterback Mark Gronowski, opened the season with a 34-7 win against Albany.
Baylor has a tough open to its 2025 schedule. After dropping a game at home to Auburn in Week 1, the Bears travel north to Dallas for a game against No. 17 SMU. After making the College Football Playoff last season, the Mustangs are 1-0 with a win against East Texas A&M.
The Border War is the Big 12’s game of the week, where former conference foes Kansas and Missouri will do battle in Columbia. This marks the first time these teams have met since 2011. The Tigers have won five of the past six meetings in the series, but 2025 Kansas is quite a bit different from 2011 Kansas. Should make for a fun game.
The Houston Cougars will travel the four miles across the city for a game against rival Rice. After losing at Rice in double-OT two seasons ago, Houston beat the Owls 33-7 last season. The Cougars are 1-0 after a 27-0 win against Stephen F. Austin.
Arizona State will represent the Big 12 in SEC country when the Sun Devils travel to Stark Vegas for a game against Mississippi State. ASU started the year with a 38-19 win against Northern Arizona. The Bulldogs are also 1-0 after beating Southern Miss 34-17 in Week 1.
The last game we’ll look at is Stanford’s trip to BYU. The Cardinal started the year with a loss in Hawaii, so this could be a good spot for some conference bragging rights for BYU. The Cougars opened the year by thumping Portland State 69-0.
Other Games to Watch
No. 20 Ole Miss (1-0) at Kentucky (1-0) — 2:30 p.m. Saturday on ABC
Arkansas State (1-0) at Arkansas (1-0) — 4 p.m. Saturday on ESPN+
No. 15 Michigan (1-0) at No. 18 Oklahoma (1-0) — 6:30 p.m. Saturday on ABC
Vanderbilt (1-0) at Virginia Tech (0-1) — 6:30 p.m. Saturday on ACC Network
UCLA (0-1) at UNLV (2-0) — 7 p.m. Saturday on CBS Sports Network
After a filled-to-the-brim Week 1 slate, things downshift a bit in terms of attention-grabbing matchups.
Ole Miss and Kentucky will start SEC play in Week 2. The Rebels should be favorites here after beating Georgia State 63-7 while Kentucky beat Toledo 24-16.
Despite sharing a state, Arkansas and Arkansas State have never played each other on the gridiron, which makes Saturday’s meeting somewhat monumental for the state of Arkansas.
Michigan and Oklahoma is the national game of the week, a contest featuring two teams desperate to prove last year was an anomaly. Led by five-star quarterback Bryce Underwood, Michigan beat New Mexico 34-17 to start the season. Led by Washington State transfer quarterback John Mateer, the Sooners started the year with a 35-3 win against Illinois State.
Virginia Tech returns home after a tough loss to South Carolina, who people are considering a dark horse candidate for the CFP. The “Enter Sandman” atmosphere in Blacksburg should be fun with Diego Pavia and the Commodores coming to town.
Tennessee transfer quarterback Iamaleava and the UCLA Bruins had a tough start to the season when Utah beat them 43-10 last week. Meanwhile, UNLV is 2-0 in the Dan Mullen era and will host UCLA in the entertainment capital of the world.
Watercooler Discussion
Tulsa (1-0) at New Mexico State (1-0) — 8 p.m. Saturday on ESPN+
