NFL Update: Hubbard, Warren Find End Zone in Week 1, Full Stats from Former Pokes
Four former OSU running backs took handoffs in Week 1.
Although the college football season might not be off to the best of starts for the Pokes, the NFL got rolling this weekend where two former Cowboy running backs showed their versatility by finding the end zone.
Here’s a closer look at TDs from Jaylen Warren and Chuba Hubbard from Sunday as well as a league-wide look at how former Oklahoma State players performed.
Warren Finds Paydirt in First Season Opener as Steelers’ RB1
Jaylen Warren entered his first season as Pittsburgh’s RB1 after Najee Harris left the franchise for Los Angeles this offseason.
Warren carried 11 times for 37 yards in the Steelers’ 34-32 win against the New York Jets. New quarterback Aaron Rodgers was the focal point of Pittsburgh’s offense, though, which is where Warren continued to get involved.
After a 17-yard completion to Warren earlier in the game, Rodgers hit Warren for a 5-yard touchdown early in the fourth quarter. That score cut the Jets’ lead to 26-24 before the teams traded touchdowns and the Steelers won it with a field goal.

Hubbard Scores Panthers’ Only TD
Chuba Hubbard also found the end zone in Week 1, but his Panthers fell to Jacksonville 26-10.
Carolina’s lone touchdown came in late in the fourth quarter when Bryce Young threw to Hubbard out of the backfield. Hubbard shed a tackle before beating the rest of the Jaguars to the pylon.
