The schedule for Year 2 of the David Taylor era is finally here.

Oklahoma State released its wrestling schedule on Wednesday. The Cowboys will open their season Nov. 7 against Stanford in Gallagher-Iba Arena. That date falls nicely, as it’s the Friday of an OSU football bye week.

Here is the schedule in full:

Nov. 7 — Stanford
Nov. 15-16 — National Duals (Tulsa)
Nov. 21 — at Air Force
Nov. 23 — at Arizona State
Dec. 14 — at West Virginia
Dec. 21 — at Nebraska
Jan. 11 — Oklahoma
Jan. 23 — at Missouri
Jan. 25 — Utah Valley
Jan. 30 — Northern Iowa
Feb. 1 — Iowa State
Feb. 6 — Little Rock
Feb. 15 — at Virginia Tech
Feb. 22 — Iowa

The highlights of the schedule include the revitalization of the National Duals Invitational in Tulsa and home duals against Oklahoma, Iowa State and Iowa.

Taylor’s second group will be tested early. The National Duals Invitational field is deep, as basically all the top teams aside from Penn State opted into the event.

But then the Cowboys follow that up with four straight duals on the road, closing the stretch off in Lincoln on Dec. 21. The Cornhuskers finished second as a team at the NCAA Championships last season, one spot ahead of the Cowboys. AJ Ferrari also transferred to Nebraska this offseason, and is expected to be the Cornhuskers’ heavyweight, if you’re looking for further storylines.

Iowa State always provides a tough test, but the Cyclones have a chance to have a big year with the return of heavyweight Yonger Bastida and transfers Stevo Poulin (125) and Rocky Elam (197).

And then OSU-Iowa is always exciting. The Hawkeyes beat OSU 21-16 in Iowa City last season, but the Cowboys finished ahead of Iowa at the NCAA Championships. The Cowboys haven’t beaten the Hawks in a dual since that magical Nick Piccininni pin in 2019.

The Cowboys lost a lot from last season’s team, but Taylor reloaded via the transfer portal.

Troy Spratley, the national runner-up at 125 pounds, returns, but the only other regular starter who didn’t graduate is Tagen Jamison. Despite that, Taylor’s second squad appears to be deep, with more than a handful of potential lineups.
