The Final Draw (PFB+): Four Reasons Those Sacks Against Arizona QBs Weren’t a Mirage
A deep dive on OSU’s pass rush and its quarterback situation.
Oklahoma State’s leaky defense patched some of the holes, admirable given the week that side of the ball went through.
So, of course, the offense acted like it hit the iceberg that sank the Titanic.
I’ve been outspoken in recent weeks that quarterback Zane Flores was indeed progressing, even though it didn’t appear to be happening quickly enough to salvage OSU’s season.
That just wasn’t the case on Saturday. But Flores wasn’t the only one struggling. The entire offense, including Sam Jackson’s quarterback plays, lacked explosiveness or consistency.
Today’s Final Draw will examine:
- Which Cowboys are gaining momentum (someone has to play safety for this team)
- Four reasons OSU’s season-high six sacks and 11 tackles for loss are a sign of progress
- Zane Flores’ passing preferences
But first, let’s talk about receiver Sam Jackson since he might be the only Cowboy on the roster we can guarantee will attempt a pass against Houston next week.
Can Sam Jackson be more than just a band-aid for OSU’s offense?
