Three Thoughts

•  The 2025 season was a masterclass of not finding (or not having healthy) impactful players through the Portal – whoever comes in next needs to have a much higher hit rate on incoming players. 

Injuries really hindered the offensive additions, see Hauss Hejny. Others just weren’t used, like Jaylen Lloyd who entered the NCAA Transfer Portal after seeing just one rep this season. [GoPokes 247]

• It’s hard to disagree with this conclusion, regardless of how you get there: OSU fans are buzzing about Cowboy Basketball a bit. 

Maybe it was the fact that OSU beat Auburn in a preseason exhibition. Maybe it’s the fact that Steve Lutz and Co. have the No. 3 recruiting class in the nation. Maybe it’s the fact that the OSU football team stinks so fans need another place to put their passion. Whatever it is, there’s a palpable buzz around OSU basketball right now that I haven’t seen in a while. [PFB]
