LIVE BLOG: Oklahoma State Hosts Kansas State
Stay up to date as the Cowboys and Wildcats square off.
FINAL: OSU 6, KSU 14
[I had a technical difficulty that got me behind on these updates. My apologies. Check out Tyler’s Recap and stay turned for my 10 Thoughts and much more as we untangle the Pokes’ latest loss.]
HALFTIME: OSU 6, KSU 7
7th Drive Comparison: Oklahoma State 6, Kansas State 7
OSU tries to get something with the last 15 seconds of the half, but just dings Zane’s stats.
After a big 24-yard run by Trent Howland gives the Pokes the ball at the KSU 44 with two seconds left, Flores lets a Hail-Mary! go and it’s picked. He has two INTs in the first half — one a gimme and one when his arm was hit while throwing.
6th Drive Comparison: Oklahoma State 6, Kansas State 7
The Cowboys stall in K-State territory and attempt a 54-yard FG but Logan Ward is short. It gives KSU the ball with just under two minutes left in the half.
The Cats got to first-and-10 at OSU’s 20 but missed out on points after a pair of incomplete passes to the end zone, a tip and a missed 38-FG attempt.
5th Drive Comparison: Oklahoma State 6, Kansas State 7
Flores’ first interception since the Arizona game comes when his arm gets hit on an attempted deep shot. Then a penalty leads to points.
The Cowboys had a turnover on downs before a neutral zone infraction called it back. Avery Johnson found Jayce Brown for a 34-yard TD on the very next play.
4th Drive Comparison: Oklahoma State 6, Kansas State 0
The Cowboys get out poor field position with a facemask call on the first play. This drive got a jolt from a 25-yard catch and run by Shamar Rigby, but K-State blew up a trick play, but the Cowboys hold on for another FG.
The Cowboys defense gets another stop to keep the Cats at bay.
3rd Drive Comparison: Oklahoma State 3, Kansas State 0
The Cowboys stalled deep in their own territory for another three-and-out, but they get another top and force another three-and-out swap.
2nd Drive Comparison: Oklahoma State 3, Kansas State 0
Gavin Freeman kept the Pokes’ drive alive with a nice run-and-catch on third-and-10. On the very next play, Zane Flores took off for 25 to put the Pokes into K-State territory and setup the field goal.
The Cats stumble after Parker Robertson sacked Avery Johnson to put them behind the chains. The Cowboys force another stop at their own 19.
1st Drive Comparison: Oklahoma State 0, Kansas State 0
After an opening-drive three-and-out by its offense, OSUs defense answers by hanging another on K-State. Two drives down, zero first downs.
The Cowboys host the Wildcats for their second to last home game of 2025 but there will be a little extra fanfare.
Two-time Biletnikoff winner Justin Blackmon will be on-site as he’s to be inducted into the Ring of Honor. So expect plenty of familiar faces from the 2010-11 golden days of OSU football.
The Cowboys come in 1-8 and 0-6 in Big 12 play, having not beaten an FBS team since September of 2024 or a conference opponent since 2023. On the somewhat bright side, Zane Flores made his return two weeks ago after missing a month due to injury and the Cowboys actually fielded a functional offense. OSU scored 21 points, the most since Flores’
K-State is 4-5 (3-4 in the Big 12). After going 9-4 last season, the Wildcats stumbled out of the gate, losing three of their first four games, including a loss to Army. But since then, they’ve won three of four and still have a decent shot to go bowling. The Cats need two win two of their last three but still have a trip to visit No. 15 Utah on their slate.
The Cats have more to play for. We’ll see which team comes out with more urgency.
