Greg Richmond Returns as Oklahoma State’s Defensive Line Coach
Richmond returns after two years away.
Greg Richmond wasn’t away from Stillwater long.
Oklahoma State on Wednesday announced that Richmond had been rehired by the university under new football coach Eric Morris. Richmond will coach the Cowboys’ defensive linemen.
He returns to Stillwater after two years away. He coached the Cowboys’ D-line from 2018 to 2022 under Mike Gundy. Richmond got on with new OSU defensive coordinator Skyler Cassity at Sam Houston in 2024 to coach the Bearkats’ defensive ends. He then followed Cassity to North Texas under Morris and now to Stillwater.
Richmond is a 2003 OSU grad and played on OSU’s defensive line from 2000 to 2003 under Les Miles. Richmond’s 12.5 sacks as a senior in 2003 are tied for fourth in program history. He finished his Cowboy career with 21.5 sacks, which ranks sixth in program history.
Before he got on staff as a coach in 2018, Richmond was an assistant strength coach in 2007 and 2008.
His coaching career started at Douglas High, where he coached the D-line. He’s also made stops at Northeastern State, Tahlequah High and Fairmont State.
