North Texas Defensive Line Transfer Saadiq Clements Commits to Oklahoma State
Another UNT D-lineman is headed to Stillwater.
The Cowboys weren’t done getting defensive linemen and they weren’t done getting North Texas transfers.
Saadiq Clements, listed at 6-foot-4, 290-pounds, announced his commitment to Oklahoma State on Friday evening. Clements played in 13 games with UNT this season, making 30 tackles, 5.5 tackles for loss and 1.5 sacks.
He was a redshirt sophomore in 2025, meaning he should have two seasons of eligibility remaining.
The 2025 season was Clements’ first in Denton, as he spent the first two years of his college career at Louisville. He was the No. 701 player in the 2023 247Sports Composite rankings. He picked the Cardinals over offers from Florida State, Michigan, Purdue and others.
Clements redshirted in 2023 before taking part in two games in 2024, where he made one tackle.
He started eight games this season for defensive coordinator Skyler Cassity (now also at OSU). PFF credited him with nine quarterback hurries this season.
Auburn was also interested in Clements’ services coming out of the portal, and he reportedly took a visit to the SEC school before electing Stillwater was where he wanted to be.
Clements is the 16th player to follow Morris and Co. over from North Texas thus far this offseason. Seven of those guys are on the defensive side of the ball, with Clements joining Keviyan Huddleston and Fatafehi Vailea II as UNT defensive linemen making the drive up I-35.
Speaking of that defensive line, the Cowboys have been adding to it basically daily since the portal opened last week. Clements is the seventh D-lineman to pick the Pokes from the portal.
