STILLWATER — Oklahoma State fans can finally begin preparations for the first year of the Eric Morris era.

On Wednesday morning the Big 12 announced the conference schedule for the 2026 football slate. In 2025, the Cowboys’ signature games largely took place on the road.

Given the state of the team, those games weren’t so much fun to watch so that might not have been such a bad thing. This year Oklahoma State’s best games should come at home, meaning Morris and company will likely have the attention of the country at least once or twice next fall.

However, perhaps the most important piece of information revealed on Wednesday was the date of America’s Greatest Homecoming. That is set for Oct. 24 when the Cowboys welcome Colorado.

Considering the game falls as the lone home competition during a month-long road trip to Houston (Oct. 17), Iowa State (Oct. 31) and Kansas State (Nov. 7) it should be especially meaningful.

The Buffaloes are also coming off a disappointing season that saw them finish 3-9 (1-8 Big 12) including three losses by as much as 25 points in their final five games.

The Cowboys host defending Big 12 champion Texas Tech on Nov. 14 one week ahead of a road trip to 2024 champion Arizona State.

Oklahoma State opens Big 12 play on the road at West Virginia on Sept. 26 then takes its lone bye of the 2026 season.

UCF (Oct. 10) is the lone Big 12 team making its debut in Stillwater this fall alongside non-conference teams Oregon (Sept. 12) and Murray State (Sept. 19). The Cowboys will wrap up the regular season at home against Kansas on Nov. 28.

The Big 12 Championship game is moving to Friday Dec. 4 this year instead of taking place on the first Saturday of the month.

The 2026 Oklahoma State schedule:

Sept. 5: At Tulsa
Sept. 12: vs Oregon
Sept. 19: vs Murray State
Sept. 26: At West Virginia
Oct. 10: vs UCF
Oct. 17: At Houston
Oct. 24: vs Colorado
Oct. 31: At Iowa State
Nov. 7: At Kansas State
Nov. 14: vs Texas Tech
Nov. 21: At Arizona State
Nov. 28: vs Kansas
