Six Oklahoma State Wrestling Signees in Top 10 of MatScouts’ Final Big Board
Things are trending up for OSU wrestling.
If for some reason you needed further evidence that David Taylor’s program is headed in the right direction, have a gander at Willie Saylor’s final big board for the 2026 recruiting class.
Saylor, operator of MatScouts, has six Oklahoma State signees in his final Top 10 for the 2026 class: No. 1 Jax Forrest, No. 4 Dreshaun Ross, No. 5 Jordyn Raney, No. 6 Jayden Raney, No. 8 Rocklin Zinkin and No. 9 Michael White.
I was interested to see where Forrest would fall in various final rankings given he enrolled early, in some ways joining the 2025 class. Given he’s already won an NCAA title while the rest of the 2026 class is waiting for high school graduation, his spot atop the 2026 throne makes sense.
As of now, it looks as if Ross could be the Cowboys’ heavyweight starter next season, and one of the Raneys could find their way into the starting lineup depending on what weight Forrest and Sergio Vega man next season. As a projected 184-pounder, White could also compete for a spot in the lineup as early as next season, given the shoulder injury Zack Ryder suffered at the end of last season. I wrote a way-too-early lineup predictions post earlier this week that fleshes some of those ideas out a little more.
Forrest, Ross and the Raneys were long considered some of the top prospects in this cycle, but Zinkin and White made major gains over the past year or so.
In April of 2025, Flo (a different ranking that Saylor’s), had Zinkin as the No. 100 prospect in the class while the outlet had White at No. 40. When those rankings updated this past November, Zinkin was up to No. 11 while White actually fell to No. 55.
Zinkin made his rise off what was a great senior year with wins at Fargo and Super 32 while going 1-1 at Who’s Number One. White is still relatively new to wrestling, having only started in high school. He won an Indiana state title this year, finishing 47-0.
