WATCH: Brandon Weeden, Terry Brown Meet with 2026 Oklahoma State Football Team

A mixing of eras took place out at the Sherman E. Smith Training Center.

Oklahoma State released a video on Monday showing Brandon Weeden (2007-11) and Terry Brown (1966-68) meeting with the Cowboys after practice.

Weeden’s Comments

“I’ll tell ya what, I loved the juice, man,” Weeden told the team. “Loved the juice. Defense, I haven’t seen that juice around here in a few years. I love to see that, and offense, same deal, man. That’s what it’s all about. You’re gonna look back two, four, five years from now and be like, ‘Daggum, I wish I could go back and do it again.’ …

“It goes fast, fellas. It goes so fast. Enjoy this time with your buddies. When you guys are done here — I was talking to somebody earlier, Coach G, he said we haven’t had a team like this that’s been this close, offense, defense, special teams — everybody’s one the same page and looking for one ultimate goal, right? Let’s go win a championship. Whatever that championship may be, let’s go win one. …

“You get this place rocking, you get Boone Pickens Stadium rolling, you get a little juice in here, you’re gonna love playing at Oklahoma State — I promise you. When we won 12 games my senior year, I mean, it doesn’t get any better than that, fellas. …

“It doesn’t get any better than that, but do it for the guy next to you. Stay cohesive good, bad or indifferent. Stay together and have fun, man. I look forward to watching you guys in the fall.”

Brown’s Comments

“When I came, Perkins Road was dirt,” Brown said. “Highway 51 was two lanes. Freshmen dressed in the bottom of Gallagher-Iba. We didn’t get to play with the varsity. …

“I see it in your attitude, I see it in the way you’re practicing, I love your practice. Coach, I don’t think you wasted a second. I was always looking for a break. …

“You guys can show this whole country what you got. Just keep that unity. That’s so important in teamwork. Keep that feeling of liking each other and liking to work with each other and getting the job done.

If you’ve found you way to this website, there’s a 99.9999% chance you know who Weeden is, but for the uninitiated, he’s perhaps the most decorated quarterback in Oklahoma State’s history.

He ranks third on OSU’s career passing yards list with 9,260 yards and second in touchdowns with 75. His 69.5 completion percentage is the best in OSU’s history among passers with at least 200 attempts.

He led the Cowboys on their magical run in 2011 where they won the program’s lone Big 12 title and won the Fiesta Bowl.

As you could tell by Brown’s comments, he comes from a different era, but that doesn’t mean he wasn’t impactful.

He played on offense, defense and special teams during his tenure in Stillwater, recording 57 tackles, three fumble recoveries, six pass breakups and three interceptions as a sophomore in 1966. Then he switched over to the offensive side of the ball as a junior, catching 34 passes for 425 yards and two touchdowns while averaging 35 yards on 17 punts. He then had 54 catches for 688 yards and two touchdowns as a senior.

Brown would go on to play in the NFL and became the first Oklahoman to score a touchdown in the Super Bowl. As a member of the Minnesota Vikings, Brown played in Super Bowl VIII and IX. In Super Bowl IX, he recovered a block punt in the end zone.
