Jacie Hoyt Signs Extension That Keeps Her in Stillwater Through the 2030-31 Season

There’s been a lot of positive momentum surrounding Cowgirl Basketball, and add this to it.

Oklahoma State announced on Monday that Jacie Hoyt has inked an extension that will keep her in Stillwater through the 2030-31 season.

“Coach Hoyt has successfully guided our program through the changing landscape of college basketball and has continued to build Cowgirl Basketball into one that contends for conference championships and consistently plays and advances in the NCAA Tournament,” OSU Athletic Director Chad Weiberg said in OSU’s release. “We’re excited about this upcoming season and the future under her leadership.”

Hoyt in entering her fifth season as the Cowgirls’ head coach with an 84-45 record and three NCAA Tournament appearances. OSU made it to the second round of the tournament this past season and has been ranked in the AP Poll in each of the past two seasons after having not been ranked since the 2017-18 season before her arrival.

And this upcoming season is setting up to be the Cowgirls’ best to date.

Hoyt landed the No. 1 transfer portal class in the nation, according to ESPN. It features two-time All-American Audi Crooks and All-SEC guard Liv McGill. And it pairs them with the most impactful player of the Hoyt Era to this point in Stailee Heard.

There are plenty more reasons why this Hoyt extension is a good thing for OSU.

The Cowgirls averaged 81.1 points a game last season — a program record. She has 10 wins against ranked opponents and three top-four finishes the in Big 12. Her teams have been particularly good on Eddie Sutton Court, as OSU is 57-10 at home under Hoyt.

“I’m incredibly grateful for the opportunity to continue leading this program and representing Oklahoma State,” Hoyt said. “Stillwater has become a home for me and my family, and I’ll never take for granted the trust and belief that has been placed in me by our administration, specifically Chad Weiberg and President (Jim) Hess. I’m incredibly proud of the progress we’ve made as a program, but I’ve never believed more in what we’re building than I do right now. The best part is knowing we’re not finished.

“I’m thankful for every player, coach, staff member, fan and member of this community who has poured into our program. We have more work to do, more memories to make and more history to write. I couldn’t be more grateful or excited to keep doing it as a Cowgirl.”
