5 Halftime Thoughts On Texas
1. Bruce Bowen is unbelievable as a basketball analyst, and not in a good way. I’ll have some quotes in my postgame writeup for those of you who aren’t fortunate enough to have a cable provider that carries the Longhorn Network.
2. I don’t understand how Texas has any wins. I understand that J’Covan Brown is injured but they’re by far the worst shooting team I’ve seen this year, including Oklahoma State. They went 7-33 in the first half. Think about that.
3. With the foul trouble early I thought of something, what’s going to happen if OSU gets in deep foul trouble and goes to an overtime or double overtime game? Prediction: we will see walk-ons in at lease one conference game this season.
4. 20% of OSU’s first half points are on Mike Cobbins tip dunks. That’s what happens when you shoot 36% from the field, have 14 turnovers, have 3 assists, and have 15 fouls. And yet they’re tied. My head is spinning.
5. Four fouls on Soucek and three each on Nash, and Keiton is going to be an issue in the second half. By the way, that offensive foul call on Keiton (his 3rd) was possibly the worst foul call I’ve ever seen in 26 years of watching college basketball. And that might be me underselling it.
