Why a 13th game might not help the Big 12. (PFB)
FSU boots its woman-hitting QB. But Joe Mixon gets to stay, solely because no video has been released to the public. Otherwise? Gone. Which, when you think about it, is complete silliness. (Yahoo)
Pokes are 5-1 to win the Big 12 and 66-1 to win it all. (PFB)
Nick Starkel update
Trent Dilfer: “He’s going to not just be good, but he’s going to be great. He has the frame, he has the mind, and he has the release. The sky’s the limit for this kid.” (B/R)
How Starkel is affecting OSU’s recruiting efforts at The Opening. (PFB)
ESPN ranks Starkel 15th (out of the 16 QBs at The Opening) in terms of how soon he’ll see the field in college. Mason Rudolph is on the verge of becoming OSU’s next big thing at QB, which is going to afford Starkel, a likely late-bloomer, the ability to develop at a normal pace. (ESPN Insider)
Hoops misc.
The Big 12 averaged 10,181 fans as a conference, an average that ranked fourth among all leagues. It is the 10th straight season the Big 12 has averaged over 10,000 fans and is the sixth straight year it has ranked among the top four conferences. (Big 12 Sports)
Some other fun figures from the attendance release. Which school had the biggest home crowds? Not Kentucky. (Yahoo)
Davon Dillard’s high school coach: “He’s a good, solid outside shooter if he doesn’t rush it. He drives the ball strongly to the basket. He’s a powerful player as well.” (Tulsa World)
Loved this post from Royce on KD and the future. (Daily Thunder)
I thought this on how much the Cavs might pay in luxury tax was really interesting. (Big Lead)
No jokes, please.
