Ryan Simmons out for the Season with a Knee Injury
Not great news for Glenn Spencer’s defense.
Starting linebacker Ryan Simmons announced on Tuesday night that he’s out for the rest of the 2015 season and done for his career as a Cowboy because of a torn MCL and PCL.
Here’s a portion of what Simmons wrote on Instagram.
Family, Friends, & Fans…. I recently tore my MCL & PCL which will require surgery and end my college football career. BUT GOD has a plan and I know without a doubt he will take care of me and my future.. I’m so thankful for all the opportunities I’ve been availed to while playing this game I love at this special university. Thank you for your support along the way. Prayers are more than welcomed on this road to recovery.
That’s a big time bummer (obviously) for Simmons, and a bad loss for OSU. Chad Whitener will fill in adequately (as he did on Saturday) but you’re losing some serious depth on defense.
Simmons had started #okstate‘s last 31 games (all of 2013, 2014, 2015). Had 203 career tackles. #okstate

Simmons had one tackle in his final game as a Poke.
