Nick Starkel Throws for 500 and 5 Touchdowns
Oklahoma State is enjoying success both on and off the field this season. Some of OSU’s underrated committed prospects are having big years; and none bigger than quarterback Nick Starkel.
The 6-foot-3, 190-pounder completed 26 of 36 passes over the weekend for 503 total yards and five touchdowns in a 50-8 win over Plano John Paul II.
As Jordan Ottaway of the Denton Record-Chronicle noted, Starkel had touchdown passes of 74, 62, 12, 87, and 38 yards.
“Nick is going to complete passes if we protect him,” Liberty head coach Barton Hundley told Ottaway. “Our offensive line did an excellent job of protecting him.”
Oklahoma State’s quarterback of the future is coming into his own this year. Starkel was injured most of last year, but Gundy’s evaluation of Starkel is proving to be more and more impressive.
