Marcus Smart Drops Career-High 26 in win over OKC
Marcus Smart had one of his biggest games of his career on Sunday and scored a career high 26 points in Oklahoma City to lead the Celtics to a win.
Smart held Russell Westbrook to 27 points on just 5-of-20 shooting on the night, and clearly aggravated Westbrook after the game.
“He had a good game,” Westbrook said postgame. “Eighty-two games, I do this. Don’t get it twisted. Don’t get it twisted. He had a good game. We’ll see him again.”
“That’s the type of guy that Russ is,” Smart told the AP. “He loves challenges. He’s going to try to do his best every time, and vice versa with me. You put two guys like that going against each other, obviously, we’re going to knock heads.”
Smart finished with a technical foul and his physical play all game was enough to seemingly get under Westbrook’s skin enough that Westbrook was already looking for a rematch.
