Mike Gundy Gets Two Extra Years, $8M On Current Contract
UPDATED: 2:49 p.m.
I wish I could remember who predicted this so that person could get credit (it might have been Bill Haisten on our podcast), but Mike Gundy got paid … again. More money.
Gundy wass set for a contract extension that was voted on by the Oklahoma State Board of Regents on Friday that tacked on two years to his deal which currently runs through 2019 so he would be at OSU presumably through 2021.

The Tulsa World noted that Gundy will be compensated $8.3M total ($4.15M each year) for the 2019-20 and 2020-21 school years which is the same he will earn in 2018-19. He made $3.65 last season.
Gundy received his last contract extension in 2012 (through 2019) after the best season in school history.
These might seem like huge numbers (and they are for sure), but according to this research by CBS Sports, Gundy was the best bargain in the Big 12 last season.
Gundy, by the way, made just $800,000 in 2006.
The BOR voted then released this statement about Gundy and hurled an unnecessary but pretty humorous dagger in the direction of Waco, Texas.
