Football News
Brandon Chatmon on the importance of Marcell Ateman: “His 15.78 air yards per target is, by far, the highest on this list and ranks third among all returning receivers in the conference. In fact, Ateman’s 19 third-down receptions for 387 yards and four touchdowns led Cowboys receivers.” [ESPN]
Kyle Cox on how big OSU’s season could be: “All of these things could come together. If they do, the Cowboys could have one of the top offenses in the country. Like 2011 numbers. Like Mason Rudolph gets to keep all his touchdowns and gets invited to New York City numbers.” But what if it goes badly? [CRFF]
ESPN reporter Trevor Matich: “When you get [to Stillwater], you don’t want to leave.” [PFB]

Recruiting
The Opening is this week and Tylan Wallace will be there. Here’s ESPN recruiting analyst Jeremy Crabtree on how that will play out: “The Cowboys have built upon their rich receiver tradition under Mike Gundy, and that was one thing that attracted Wallace to Stillwater. Wallace ranks as the ninth-best receiver in the country, but he hasn’t garnered much of the fanfare he deserves. That could change after The Opening.” [ESPN]
Jelani Woods, big boy arm. [PFB]
Kyle Boone: “Oklahoma State is expected to host four-star tailback Anthony Williams on an unofficial visit for invite only visit on July 30, per a source. Running backs coach Marcus Arroyo also hinted the news on twitter.” [PFB]
KD, still gone
Royce Young doing some sportswritin’ on KD here. Awesome stuff. [ESPN]
Although apparently not everyone thought so!
If @royceyoung thought KD was prone to impulse decisions, that analysis might have been something to write BEFORE he left.

I've seen very few people mention OKC's lack of urgency in support of Durant and Westbrook until the last year in anything written today.

Also, KD was frustrated with Russell? Get in line! [B/R]
