Early Lines Have OSU as Two-Touchdown Underdog to Sooners
July 4th is over which means family vacation “let’s see who can put out the earliest, craziest college football lines” season is here! South Point Casino obliged, and Oklahoma State is heavily involved with the lines they posted this week.
Kyle B. looked at Bovada’s conference odds earlier today — those are a little less wild than (and thus not as fun as) these individual game odds. Here are all the games involving the Pokes that South Point has listed.
Oklahoma State (-12) over Texas — Stillwater, October 1
Oklahoma State (-10.5) over West Virginia — Stillwater, October 29
Oklahoma State (-4) over Kansas State — Manhattan, November 5
TCU (-4.5) over Oklahoma State — Ft. Worth, November 19
Oklahoma (-13.5) over Oklahoma State — Norman, December 3
That Texas line, my goodness. I get that Texas is not great, but two touchdowns over a team that has pretty much everything but a decent QB? I’m not touching that. The rest of it seems reasonable. OSU being favored in Manhattan is absolutely terrifying.
The TCU line is fair since it’s in Ft. Worth. The OU line seems three points too high [remembers last year’s game] … I mean three points too low.
The most intriguing thing about any set of lines is which direction they move the closer you get to the actual event. My guess is the Texas line is in the single digits by the time the season starts and the OU one goes above two TDs.
