Oklahoma State Baseball Commit Accused of Sexual Assaulting Child at Mom’s Daycare
Plano Senior High School baseball commit Zachary Holifield, an ace pitcher who committed to play baseball at OSU earlier this spring, is accused of sexually assaulting a child he knew through the home day care his mother runs.
According to an arrest-warrant affidavit released by the Dallas News, Holyfield would take a 5-year-old girl to a bathroom when his mother left the day care. Holifield confessed to three separate instances of sexual contact where the girls parents told authorities he “picked her up and took her into the bathroom” where he forced her to perform a sexual act.
Even worse, the girl claims this has taken place since she was 3-years-old.
Holifield is still in custody, according to the Dallas News report, and has been transferred to a juvenile detention center. Because the allegations are said to have began before he turned 17, his lawyer is pushing for trial in the juvenile system rather than adult court.
I get a pretty good feeling that Holifield will not be with the OSU baseball program next year.
