Andre Sexton Joining OSU Staff as Defensive Grad Assistant
Former Oklahoma State linebacker Andre Sexton is joining the Oklahoma State coaching staff as a defensive graduate assistant, according to his twitter account:
Prior to joining the OSU staff, he was hired by Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College in January as a secondary coach, after having spent 2 years at West Virginia coaching as a defensive grad assistant under Joe Deforest.
Sexton, the standout four year letterman from Houston, earned many awards during his playing days such as freshman all-american status in 2006, Big 12 defensive freshman newcomer of the year, all Big 12 second team linebacker in 2008, and capped his playing days with a defensive MVP award at the 2009Â Cotton Bowl.
He coached the secondary in Morgantown including All Big 12 safety Karl Joseph and second team All Big 12 safety KJ Dillon. If his past is any indication both from his playing days and his coaching, it’s safe to assume he may be in line to work with the safeties or assist with the star linebacker position, of which he essentially invented.
