Grading The Uniforms: First Threads Of OSU Season Get High Marks
I will be grading OSU’s uniforms each week using a criteria consisting of five categories.
Four of the five categories are on a scale of 1-5. The helmet will have its own rating. Aesthetics will be a rating of the flow of the uniform as a whole. The intimidation factor will simply be how intimidating the uniform looks. The accessories will be a rating of the gloves, socks, shoes, and sleeves. Additionally, the Cowboys get a point for winning. A perfect score is 21 points for the GOAT.
Let’s get to Saturday’s grade.
Helmet (4)
The new helmet design is really cool. I like the updated shiny logo and the bandana details. I would probably rank it in my top 5, but I have a feeling that we are in store for much more. The helmet stripe didn’t really do it for me this time. It looks like it could really work well on an orange helmet, though.
Aesthetics (5)
It’s easy to love the flow of the classic white-orange-white combo.
Intimidation Factor (2)
The black accents really stand out and the numbers look strong, but White-Orange-White isn’t that intimidating.
Accessories (5)
White-Orange-White looks great with black socks and black shoes, but how much cleaner does it look with white socks and white shoes? The orange gloves popped and I heard a lot of fans talking them up.
Win (1)
“I don’t care what they wear as long as they win.” 61-7.
