How Oklahoma State is using the quick snap quite well. These numbers surprised me. [PFB]
This on Jordan Burton is good. Mentally preparing even when he’s physically unable to go. Burton: “On the good side, my legs weren’t as tired. Even though I didn’t practice, I was still making sure I had a lot of film study. I was watching extra film, made sure I had a lot of mental reps while I was sitting on the sideline. Once I did get to practice, I was trying to make sure I was perfect in everything I did.” [NewsOK]
Chrome Pete uni gets an “A.” [PFB]
Mason Rudolph is already an all-time great OSU QB. [PFB]
Grades from Mark Cooper halfway through the season. Tough to disagree here though I might have the linebackers a little higher. [Tulsa World]
Carson and I taped a new podcast on Monday. We listed our top five receivers in OSU history. They are the same five players, but we had them in a different order. [PFB]
Kyle B. goes in on Gundy at the end of games here, and I don’t really disagree. At least deserves to be discussed. Also, very well-written by him. [PFB]
Adarius Bowman, still insanely good. Baffles me why he never got a shot in the NFL. [PFB]
On the Big 12 coaches’ teleconference Monday, coach Mike Gundy said the line was “average.” “We played OK,” Gundy said. “We could have been better. I’m not a big fan of making adjustments. Those five guys have worked together, so it wasn’t as easy for us.” [Tulsa World]
Insane.
Fun fact, Barry Sanders had more TDs in 1988 than Reggie Bush had in his entire USC career

Around the league
Texas coach Charlie Strong’s job status seems a foregone conclusion in Austin. The Longhorns’ three-game losing streak has dropped UT to 2-3. Strong’s three-year record is 13-17. Barring a remarkable turnaround, this appears to be Strong’s final season. [NewsOK]
Oklahoma State’s role in the invention of the air raid. [PFB]
This is interesting. Several AP Poll voters were asked whether OSU should be a top 25 team. [Tulsa World]
Oklahoma State took a page out of the Baylor book this week and almost lost to Iowa State. Oklahoma State suffers from the same problem all of the top teams in the Big 12 suffer from: they aren’t good enough to sleep through games but they still sleep through games. [LGG]

I am FIRED UP about basketball starting. [PFB]
I don't want to sound unenthusiastic about football, but I'm almost more excited about basketball. I could be going insane.

Recruiting News
Devontae Shuler chooses Ole Miss over Oklahoma State. [PFB]
A reminder.
Good time to re-post the "should you tweet at recruits" flowchart.
Are you a human?
Yes: you should not tweet at recruits
No: who cares— Pistols Firing (@pistolsguys) October 11, 2016

John Smith on OSU’s first practice: “It was a good day. It was fun. It was really enjoyable. We had a tough practice. I saw a few things that I didn’t like and saw some things I did like. I think that’s pretty normal for this time of year. I don’t think there is any coach in any sport that is too pleased with what they see (this early), but I see a lot of hope and that gets me excited and motivated.” [okstate]
