Uniform Review: Threads At Kansas Worst Of Season So Far
I will be grading OSU’s uniforms each week using a criteria consisting of five categories.
Four of the five categories are on a scale of 1-5. The helmet will have its own rating. Aesthetics will be a rating of the flow of the uniform as a whole. The intimidation factor will simply be how intimidating the uniform looks. The accessories will be a rating of the gloves, socks, shoes, and sleeves. Additionally, the Cowboys get a point for winning. A perfect score is 21 points for the GOAT.
How did the Cowboys look against Kansas?
Helmet (4)
I was surprised to see Orange chrome again so soon. For some unsubstantiated reason, I thought that we would wear a different helmet each game. I am surprised this helmet hasn’t been given the badge treatment.
Aesthetics (2)
Tri-color combinations can be great, but this might be one of the worst combos we have. Orange and gray is a difficult thing to pull off. It has looked much worse on teams like Syracuse and Bowling Green. If anyone can pull off this look, it’s Oklahoma State. In fact, they have. Gray-White-Orange looked amazing with the former template and the carbon fiber helmet.
Intimidation (2)
Gray is the most polarizing thing in Oklahoma State’s uniform arsenal. I am on the side that loves gray. I want to rate this higher, but I can’t with that helmet clashing with the white and gray. It’s upsetting to think about how great this combo would look with black pants. I’m actually glad that they didn’t bust out such a great tri-color combo against Kansas.
Accessories (4)
Once again the gloves looked like a different shade of orange compared to the helmet. I really liked the white and gray socks in combination with the jersey and pants.
Win (1)
Good job on getting the W at Kansas. Also A+ for using this combo vs Kansas on the road instead of at OU or at TCU. I’m pumped for Homecoming.
