John Lucas Helping Recruit Five-star Point Guard Trae Young
One of the top basketball prospects in the country made an official visit to Oklahoma State this weekend, and a former OSU legend is doing his part to try and sway his decision.
Five-star point guard Trae Young, a top 15 recruit in the 2017 class, took his fifth and final official visit this weekend to Stillwater. Young is reportedly considering Kansas, Kentucky, OU, Texas Tech, and OSU; Many believe it may be a regional battle between OSU/OU and Kansas.
John Lucas III, who played at OSU from 2003-2005, wants to see his alma mater thrive with talent. So he is trying to do his best to recruit Young. Here’s what he tweeted out this weekend:

Being that Lucas isn’t an official OSU representative, it’s perfectly fine for him to lobby to get Young to Stillwater. If you’re Lucas, you want to see your alma mater thrive, and grabbing the state’s top ranked recruit certainly wouldn’t hurt.
Young is done taking official visits having exhausted all five, and isn’t expected to make his college decision until the late signing period so he can get a feel for how the schools will play this season. With his final to Stillwater this weekend, perhaps they have made a memorable lasting impression before he makes his big decision.
