Oklahoma State Lands Three (!) Plays On Piesman Ballot, Vote Here
The ballot for SB Nation’s annual Piesman Trophy has been released for the best plays by lineman. Three (!) Oklahoma State plays were nominated out of 53 total.
- DeQuinton Osborne’s interception against Kansas
- Jarrell Owens/Vincent Taylor double lateral after Jordan Sterns’ interception (also against Kansas)
- Vincent Taylor’s blocked PAT and lateral against Texas
“He is really athletic,” Mike Gundy said of Taylor earlier this year. “He’s a junior, so we will still have him. I would say there could be a spot for us to use him [on offense] with the athleticism that he showed us on Saturday…If (the defensive tackles) are capable of doing it, I don’t have a problem doing it. They’re hard to bring down. In the end, it’s the law of physics. You have a 300-pounder that’s moving at a slightly greater speed than you are coming to tackle him. Eventually, he’s going to knock you back. There’s a place for it.”
You can pick your five favorite plays and voting ends at 4:00 p.m. CST today. Winners will be announced this week. Check them out here.
(the sounding of many trumpets)
