Notebook: OSU throttles Texas A&M CC
The only team to beat Brad Underwood in the Southlands Conference at Stephen F. Austin was no match for his new team in Stillwater. Oklahoma State romped Texas A&M CC.
- Brandon Averette has turned a corner since the Tulsa game. Pre-Tulsa: 6.25 points, 1.6 assists/game. Since Tulsa? 11.25 points and 2.25 assists.
- In terms of offensive efficiency, Oklahoma State is 19th in the country scoring 114.8 points per 100 possessions. The biggest surprise to me is how well they shoot it from deep. Today: 10-of-28.
- Oklahoma State has the third highest-scoring offense in the country, by the way. Behind UCLA and, of course, The Citadel.
- Half of those 28 3-pointers were shot from Thomas Dziagwa, I am pretty sure.
- Speaking of …. Thomas Dziagwa was a man possessed today. I mean, maybe it was mindset and pre-game ritual. He was 3-of-7 from 3 and finished with 11 points. I’m pretty sold on him being the guy I would pick if OSU needs a shot.

- Cam McGriff sat out today with a hyperextension in his left knee suffered earlier in the week. Expected to return by the West Virginia game — but something worth keeping an eye on.
- Mitch Solomon had the game of his life, perhaps. 14 total rebounds — 9 (NINE!) of them came on the offensive glass.
- It’s crazy that playing Texas A&M CC isn’t a trap game anymore. Last season I may have been bracing for an upset in this same spot.
- The defense is utterly relentless. There are legitimately no nights (or days) off for Underwood’s teams. Always putting pressure on the ball. Always talking and in passing lanes. Forced 21 turnovers today. Pretty much par for the course.
- Phil Forte hasn’t been at his best recently, but he seems to be operating at a more confident level today. Feel like half the deal with him is confidence. Don’t hesitate!!
- It’s against lesser competition, but Davon Dillard has been solid in limited minutes. I still feel like his defensive brain-farts overshadow what he can do offensively.
Davon Dillard. Wow! https://t.co/AuNxWMMqya

- Lucas N’Guessan’s taped ankles aren’t a great sign. Hmm.
- Oklahoma State is 10-2. They won 12 games all of last season. I like Undy ball.
- THIS.
Are you guys ready for West Virginia? https://t.co/0PwEDSXKaQ
