Daily Bullets (January 16)
It got lost because we posted it at the worst possible time — in the fourth quarter of the Cowboys-Packers game — but we did a podcast with Jordan Sterns on Sunday. He was awesome, and we had fun having him on. You should check it out and subscribe in iTunes if you haven’t already.
Also, leave us a review and note if you feel compelled. They help grow the pod (which is happening! We went from 400 listeners per episode in the 2015 football season to 1,400 per episode last year).
What to work on
OSU has not been a good defensive rebounding team in 2017.
For as good as Oklahoma State is on the offensive glass — eighth in the country in offensive rebounding percentage — the Cowboys are as deficient on the defensive boards.
After allowing 16 offensive rebounds to Kansas, OSU ranks 321st in defensive rebounding percentage (opponents rebound 34.5 percent of their misses). In Big 12 play, OSU ranks eighth of 10 in defensive rebounding.
Iowa State, one of the poorer offensive rebounding teams in a good rebounding conference, managed 14 offensive boards. Texas had 10, West Virginia 13. [Tulsa World]
Hopefully Mitchell Chamberlain can solve those woes.
Cowboys-Packers
What a game. Dirty Dan did his thing with a bomb answer to Mason Crosby. But Aaron Rodgers is an all-timer. Dat throw! Bryan Curtis, one of my faves, wrote about it after attending.
The Cowboys scored on the next possession, with Prescott throwing the ball to Dez Bryant, and Bryant controlling it to ground — unlike, well, you know. Rod and I hugged — a full-bodied, we-might-actually-win-this-thing hug. (It was also a reprise of the Lions game two years ago.) Prescott ran the ball in for a two-point conversion to tie the game at 28. Someone in Section 413 shouted, “Dak from the dead!” It may have even been me. [Ringer]

More Cowboys-Packers
There is so much to discuss (and a lot of it involves OSU players!)
Dan Bailey kicked a game-tying, 52-yard field goal with 35 seconds left in the game Sunday, but when his old OSU teammate, Lane Taylor, turned his gaze to the scoreboard, he didn’t focus on the score. Taylor looked at the time.

“I was like, ‘they left us too much time,’” said Taylor, a Green Bay Packer guard. You can’t give Aaron Rodgers any time, much less more than half a minute, and feel safe. [NewsOK]
So much happening! Thoughts on this from my man, KVV?
I think Rodgers is the Tiger Woods to Brady's Jack Nicklaus. Brady will end w/ more hardware, but Rodgers does stuff that seems impossible.

Also, I laughed at this.
Do you guys think that's the first time Lane Taylor ever wanted Dan Bailey to miss?

OSU whips Iowa
We will have more on this a little but later, but the No. 1-ranked Cowboys took down the No. 3 Hawkeyes in convincing fashion. OSU did not ‘get the crap kicked out of them.’
The Iowa wrestling team invaded Stillwater, Okla., on Sunday afternoon with both purpose and curiosity. The Hawkeyes wanted to not only beat No. 1 Oklahoma State, but learn just how close they were to the top of the collegiate wrestling food chain.
After Sunday’s result, it would appear that Iowa still has a ways to climb.
The Cowboys (6-0) won seven of the 10 matches and outscored the Hawkeyes in total match points, 53-50. Furthermore, Oklahoma State won the dual with just one bonus-point victory — a first-period fall from Chandler Rogers over Skyler St. John at 165 pounds. [Des Moines Register]
