Thank You for Helping us Give $1,000 to Harvey Victims
Last week, I put out the Bat Signal for a bit of a hare-brained idea regarding Pistol Partners — what we call our PFB contributors — and helping out with Hurrican Harvey. I said that if we got to 300 contributors by the end of last week, we would give $1,000 to help with relief efforts in Houston (you can contribute here, by the way). We were going to give $500 regardless, but I thought it would be fun to double that up if possible.
On Sunday, right before Texas A&M went Full Aggie, we hit 300.
So here it is, $1,000 to Samaritan’s Purse as they go and help out those displaced and affected by the Hurricane.

So I wanted to say thank you. I was incredibly inspired by what Oklahoma State basketball coach Mike Boynton did last week in GIA, and though $1,000 is not a lot of money, it’s still something. It’s something we would not have been able to contribute two years ago or even a year ago.
So thank you for reading and listening and tweeting and commenting (usually) — you guys make this blog go ’round both with your attention and now with your money. We don’t take that lightly, and we are grateful for it. It’s a heck of a thing for those of us who work here to get to wake up and do this every day.
Go Pokes, and thank you again for your generosity.
“Oh, my goodness, it was a sight—all the volunteers. If they weren’t here, this would have taken years.” https://t.co/BlWWKQCByY #Harvey pic.twitter.com/Fe1WNjFih3
