Watch: Iowa State Plants Flag in Norman After Stunning OU Upset
Without its starting QB Jacob Park, Iowa State toppled the third-ranked Sooners in Norman in what is easily the upset of the early college football season on Saturday.
The Cyclones pulled off the 38-31 win behind the stellar performance of walk-on QB Kyle Kempt, a youngster who was third on the depth chart. Inside linebacker Joel Lanning also appeared at QB in situations in the win.
After the game, Iowa State gave the Baker Mayfield-led Sooners a taste of its own medicine by planting the flag at midfield, and a hot mic also caught one Cyclones player trolling Mayfield for his taunts against Baylor earlier this season.

It’s still early in the season, and OU will have plenty of chances to prove its still a championship contender. But this is a really bad loss for OU, and could be damning for the Big 12’s hopes of making it to the CFP playoff.
