Jeffrey Carroll Unanimous Preseason All-Big 12 First Team Selection
Oklahoma State senior sharpshooter Jeff Carroll was one of three players unanimously named by league’s coaches to the Preseason All-Big 12 First Team released on Thursday, along with KU’s Devonte’ Graham and West Virginia’s Jevon Carter.
Carroll jumped from 8.2 points to 17.5 points per game between his sophomore and junior season at OSU, earning him All-Big 12 second team honors in 2016-17. Now with leading scorer Jawun Evans pursuing his NBA career with the Clippers, Carroll is expected to be the leading scorer in Mike Boynton’s inaugural season.

Carroll averaged 17.2 points while shooting a red-hot 44.4 percent from 3-point range, which ranked third-best in the league last season. But he wasn’t simply a one-dimensional player, either. He also ranked eighth in the Big 12 in rebounds per game with 6.6, putting him in elite company of Georges Niang, Jordan Hamilton and Kevin Durant among former Big 12 players who ranked among the top 10 in scoring, rebounding and 3-point percentage in the same season.
