A Look at Some of the State’s Top Prospects in the 2027 Class
Can OSU continue its in-state hot streak into the 2027 class?
The Cowboys are up to six in-state commitments after adding Owasso’s Tajh Overton and Bixby’s Braeden Presley to the recruiting class recently.
If Oklahoma State keeps these six pledges to signing day, it would mark the most in-state signees for the Cowboys since they had nine (!!) in 2022.
OSU has always made it a priority to recruit this oddly shaped state, but — whether it be because of the new staff, the introduction of revenue share or some combination of both — that focus has seemingly been turned up a notch.
So, with OSU cleaning up in the 2026 class, let’s take a peek at who some of the in-state prospects OSU has offered for 2027.
Cooper Hackett, OL, Fort Gibson
The state’s top prospect in 2027 resides in the eastern portion of the state.
Hackett is a 6-foot-7, 260-pound rising junior who also plays on the Tigers’ basketball team. 247Sports considers Hackett as the No. 9 player in all of the 2027 class, making him the No. 2 offensive tackle in the nation.
With that said, it should come as no surprise that the competition for Hackett’s services will be fierce. Along with picking up an OSU offer in February (his fourth offer), he also has announced offers to Oklahoma, Penn State, Ohio State, Texas A&M, Arkansas, Texas Tech, Missouri and others.
Kaeden Penny, OL, Bixby
The Cowboys have had plenty of success recruiting Bixby in recent seasons, including the 2026 class where OSU landed Braeden Presley and Trey McGlothlin.
Listed at 6-foot-5, 285 pounds going into his junior season, Penny is the No. 30 player in 247Sports’ Composite ranking for the class, making him another massive recruit within the state’s borders. He announced an OSU offer in November. Oklahoma, Arkansas, Tennessee, Texas Tech, Texas A&M and others are also involved.
Penny plays both ways for the Spartans, playing left tackle and on the interior of Bixby’s defensive line. According to MaxPreps, he made 18 tackles, a tackle for loss, two sacks and had seven quarterback hurries as a sophomore.
Semaj Stanford, DB, Broken Arrow
Another four-star prospect, Stanford will plat at Broken Arrow as a junior after previously playing at Jenks.
OSU offered Stanford all the way back in January of 2024 — the second semester of his freshman year. 247Sports considers him the No. 150 player in the 2027 class and the No. 15 safety in the cycle. He also has offers from OU, Oregon, Ohio State, Michigan, Miami, LSU, Texas A&M, Arkansas and others.
He also played offense for the Trojans as a sophomore, catching six passes for 95 yards and a touchdown.
Titus Hawk, TE, Choctaw
Along with having one of the best names in the 2027 class, Hawk is also one of the best tight ends in the cycle. He’s the No. 162 player overall in 247Sports’ rankings, making him a top 10 tight end in the class.
At 6-foot-7, 215 pounds, Hawk plays football, basketball and baseball at Choctaw. OSU was the first program to offer Hawk, doing so on Jan. 20. That opened the floodgates, as OU, Michigan, Texas A&M, Texas Tech, Notre Dame, Nebraska, Miami and others have since been involved.
He caught 20 passes for 365 yards and seven touchdowns as a sophomore.
Case Alexander, LB, Washington
Another small-school prospect, Alexander was a key piece in Washington’s unbeaten state title run in 2024.
He’s the No. 266 player in the 247Sports Composite rankings for the class, making him a four-star prospect and the No. 18 linebacker in the cycle. He made 90 tackles, eight tackles for loss, three sacks and two interceptions as a sophomore while also catching 22 passes for 374 yards and five touchdowns.
He announced his OSU offer in early November and also has offers to Oklahoma, Texas Tech, Michigan and others.
Bryson Brown, DB, Broken Arrow
After winning a state title with Owasso in 2024, Brown is set to play at Broken Arrow as a junior.
At 6-foot, 183 pounds, Brown is the No. 154 player in Rivals’ ranking for the 2027 class. He announced his OSU offer in February and also has offers from OU, Ohio State, Penn State, Texas A&M, UCLA and others.
He also competes in track, with MileSplit crediting Brown with a 11.22 100 meters, a 22.78 200 meters and a 20-feet, 1-inch long jump.
Colton McComb, LB, Edmond Memorial
Colton McComb picked up an OSU offer after competing at one of the Cowboys’ camps in June.
Listed at 6-foot-2, 210 pounds, McComb isn’t ranked by the major recruiting services yet, but it’s only a matter of time, as he has an offer list that also includes Oklahoma, Tulane, Purdue and Kansas.
As a sophomore at Edmond Memorial this past season, McComb made 102 tackles, 6.5 tackles for loss, seven sacks, intercepted a pass and recovered a pair of fumbles. He also played some running back for the Bulldogs, running for 144 yards and three touchdowns. Heck, he was Memorial’s long snapper, too.
Joseph Graves, DL, IMG Academy
Graves is on his way out of the state, headed to national power IMG Academy, but he’s still an Oklahoma kid, nonetheless. He previously played at Booker T. Washington.
Listed at 6-foot-2, 280 pounds, Graves announced an OSU offer on Valentine’s Day. Despite not being rated by the major recruiting services yet, he also has announced offers to OU, Arkansas, Nebraska, Texas A&M and others.
Dawayne Jones, DL, Booker T. Washington
A former teammate of Graves’, Jones is listed at 6-2, 265. The two announced their OSU offers on the same day.
The Cowboys were Jones’ 12th offer. He has also reported offers to LSU, Texas A&M, Arkansas, Arizona State, Kansas State, Auburn and others.
Greydon Howell, ATH, Broken Bow
From southeastern OK, Howell put up some ridiculous numbers as a sophomore. Playing quarterback for Broken Bow, he threw for 1,994 yards, ran for 1,052 yards and was responsible for 35 total touchdowns.
Howell announced his OSU offer in March and also has offers to Miami, Arkansas, Auburn, Stanford and others.
At 5-11, 170, it’s unsure where he projects at the college level. He went to an OSU camp this summer and got some run at receiver. One thing is for certain, though, he’s electric.
Ben Kolar, TE, Norman North
One Kolar has made the trek up I-35 from Norman to Stillwater — will a second?
John Kolar, Ben’s brother, was a quarterback who signed with the Cowboys back in the 2015 class. Then Charlie Kolar, another brother, was a tight end at Iowa State and now plays for the Baltimore Ravens.
The On3 Industry Ranking lists Ben as the No. 419 player in the 2027 class, making him a top 25 tight end in the cycle and the No. 8 player from Oklahoma.
Ben, listed at 6-foot-3, 225 pounds, announced his OSU offer last month, and also has offers to OU, Miami, Michigan, Tennessee, Texas Tech, TCU, Iowa State and others.
Gabriel Osborne Jr., ATH, Mustang
After previously playing at Putnam City, Osborne will go a little southwest to Mustang for his junior season.
Osborne is also a high-level basketball player, as he plays AAU in Puma’s Pro16 League. He is unranked for the time being but along with the OSU offer he announced last month, he has also announced offers to OU, Baylor, Arizona State, Kansas State and others.
It looks like he’ll project as a defensive back at the college level but also plays receiver. As a sophomore at Putnam City, he recorded 43 tackles, four tackles for loss, three interceptions, a forced fumble and two fumble recoveries. He scored on an interception return, two punt returns and a kickoff return.
Kailib Dillard, ATH, Jenks
Dillard announced an OSU offer at the end of June, with the Cowboys joining the likes of Ole Miss, UCLA, Iowa State, Miami, Kansas and others.
Although he isn’t ranked, different recruiting services list him as a safety and a receiver. According to MaxPreps, he caught 12 passes for the Trojans as a sophomore for 206 yards.
