Bedlam Baseball Blowout Roundup

Published

on

OSU scored eight runs in the first and never trailed. Here’s a collection of notes and tweets from the blowout.

  • The 24 runs are the most in the Holliday era; the last time the Cowboys scored that many runs was 2010, when OSU beat Alabama A&M 26-0.
  • Arakawa capped the 1st inning with this monster two-run shot. Pretty sure that hits the scoreboard.
  • David Petrino led the Pokes with four hits. Gage Green, Conor Costello and Arakawa each had three.
  • The only innings OSU didn’t score? That would be the 2nd, 7th and 8th.
  • Junior Michael Mertz made his Cowboy debut, pitching a perfect 8th inning.
  • Nine Cowboys scored at least a run, and eight had an RBI.
  • OU almost got beat worse than the Thunder, who lost by 25 to the Spurs tonight.

OSU is back in action this weekend when they travel to Lawrence to face the Kansas Jayhawks.
