The Oklahoma State women’s basketball team went 1-1 last week with a loss to Iowa State and a win over Texas Tech. Cowgirl softball is starting to crank up and several other sports are in full swing, too. Let’s take a look.

Women’s Basketball

The 19th-ranked Cowgirls earned their sixth conference win with an 80-62 victory over Texas Tech on Saturday. Sophomore Kaylee Jensen led all scorers with 22 points and also recorded her 39th double-double with 11 rebounds, making her second on the Cowgirls’ all-time list of career double-doubles. Loryn Goodwin and Braxtin Miller also reached double digits, recording 20 and 16 points, respectively.

The Cowgirls will now prepare for a showdown with No. 3 Baylor in Waco on Wednesday at 6:30 p.m.

The Cowgirls got their first look at their new locker room this past week. Here are some pictures and a video from the unveiling, alongside donors Michael and Anne Greenwood.

Track and field

Senior Hassan Abdi claimed first in the men’s 3,000 meters by three-hundredths of a second to give Oklahoma State their only first-place finish on the final day of the Razorback Invitational on Saturday.

Surprisingly enough, Abdi’s career high in the 3,000 meter was close to 15 seconds faster than his 8:15.03 finish.

OSU now prepares for the Deloss Dodds Invitational on Feb. 2 in Manhattan, Kansas.
