Former Arizona guard Justin Simon, a Temecula, California native, will visit Stillwater this weekend according to reports from CBS and Scout.

Simon was a headline prospect in Sean Miller’s 2015 recruiting class, ranked as a five-star prospect by Rivals and Scout, and a four-star prospect by 247sports and ESPN. Simon cited playing time, or lack thereof, as his reason for transferring from Arizona.

From USA today: “My decision to transfer is centered on playing time. I would like a bigger role as a basketball player. Hopefully, I will be able to find this at my next program.”

Simon is a 6-foot-5 combo guard who, as a senior, averaged 12.5 points per game, never broke into the rotation and saw meaningful playing time as a true freshman at Arizona. During his freshman year with the Wildcats, he averaged 2.3 points and 7.5 minutes per game in 24 games.

Simon will be forced to sit out the entire 2016 season due to transfer rules, but would be eligible for the 2017 season.

Upon Simon’s decision to transfer, CBS Sports Jon Rothstein reported that he was considering Indiana, Hofstra, Louisiana Monroe, Louisville, Miami, New Mexico, OU, St John’s, Texas, & Villanova as possible landing spots.
