Big 12 ADs, CEOs to Meet Thursday about Texas, OU Situation
The meeting is at 4 p.m. Thursday.
As the rumors of OU’s and Texas’ potential departure from the Big 12 intensify, decision-makers within the conference are expected to meet to discuss the latest developments, CBS Sports’ Dennis Dodd reports.
A meeting is set for 4 p.m. Thursday, with Big 12 athletic directors and CEOs set to convene on the subject of the week (and maybe of the year).
It’s unclear what the goal of the meeting will be — and what exactly will be accomplished in a room full of suits — but there’s only one topic to discuss (OU and Texas considering a jump from the Big 12 to the SEC). And convening a room full of the league’s decision-makers is likely to create some sort of actionable items, you’d think.
This all seems to be happening rather quickly so perhaps this meeting is meaningful, perhaps not, but seriously — how much would you pay to be in that room? $500? $5 million? The drama and tension has got to be off the charts for folks in the Big 12 right now.
