Big 12 Wrestling Tournament to Stay in Tulsa through 2020
On Tuesday it was announced that the Big 12 Wrestling Tournament will extend it’s current contract for two years and remain in Tulsa through 2020.
The 2019 tournament will be held March 9-10 and the 2020 tournament on March 7 and 8. The Cowboys have won 14 of the Big 12’s 21 conference tournaments and are heavy favorites to win again in Tulsa March 3-4.
The new look for wrestling in the Big 12 has been great. The traditional programs are lagging behind, but South Dakota State, Wyoming, Northern Iowa, Utah Valley, and others have really set up to make for a great tournament. We’ll go in-depth in our upcoming previews on it, but it should be a great tournament again.
The Big 12 is the largest neutral site conference wrestling tournament in the country and Cowboy fans deserve a lot of credit for that and for the tournament coming back to Tulsa. For anyone that was there last year there was a lot of orange and you can safely assume it will be similar this year and hopefully for the next two years.
