Brandon Weeden Stepped in for Injured Tony Romo, Went 7/7 with a TD and Got the Win
Tony Romo went down in the third quarter of the Cowboys-Eagles game on Sunday afternoon with a broken collarbone. So Bedlam NFL-style started.
Brandon Weeden and Joe Randle in one backfield. Sam Bradford and DeMarco Murray in the other. Weeds was outstanding in his 2015 debut. He went 7/7 for 73 yards and a touchdown as the Cowboys locked up their second straight win. His passer rating was 149.7. His lone touchdown was this beauty to Terrance Williams.

Last month, Weeden noted that would be ready but would prefer to not have to play because that would mean Romo had, well, probably broken something.
“I think having two guys you can count on is invaluable if something, God forbid, does happen,” Weeden said. “You hope [the starter] can play every snap for 16 games and the playoffs, but this league is too physical. There is going to be a time where I am going to have to play a series, two series or a half, whatever it may be. You’ve got to have a guy who can come in and can function.”
Jason Garrett counted on him on Sunday, and probably will be for the next two months (at least), and he delivered.
