After making the All-NBA Third Team last season, Cade Cunningham hasn’t slowed down in his fifth year in the Association.

Cunningham is averaging 25.6 points a game through the opening 10 games of this season, while also bringing in 4.7 rebounds a game and 9.8 assists per contests.

The Pistons were in Philadelphia on Sunday night, where the 76ers were having a good time with the AI (Allen Iverson, not artificial intelligence) throwbacks. Cunningham dropped 26 on Philly to go with four boards and 11 assists. He also threw down one of the more ferocious dunks of his young career.

With the Pistons nursing a 106-104 lead in the final two minutes, Cunningham cross half court with Kelly Oubre defending. Cunningham muscled past Oubre on a left-handed drive when Andre Drummond stepped in front for a contest at the rim. But Drummond couldn’t elevate in time to fully contest the 6-foot-6 former OSU guard.

Cunningham gathered the ball with his right hand, and hammered in home on Drummond’s head.

Cunningham spent the 2020-21 season in Stillwater, leading the Cowboys to the NCAA Tournament. He was a First Team All-American as a freshman that season, averaging 20.1 points, 6.2 rebounds and 3.5 assists a contest. He was the Big 12 Rookie of the Year and the Big 12 Player of the Year.

The Pistons took Cunningham first overall in the 2021 NBA Draft.
