Add another preseason honor to the heaping pile for Oklahoma State freshman phenom Cade Cunningham. He was added to the preseason watch list for the Bob Cousy Award, it was announced Monday.

The trophy is presented annually to the nation’s top collegiate point guard by the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame. Cunningham joins three other Big 12 PGs on the list of 20 — Baylor’s Jared Butler, Kansas’ Marcus Garrett and Matt Coleman III of Texas.

No Cowboy has ever won the award, but Jawun Evans and Marcus Smart also made the watch list with Smart being a finalist in 2013.

Cunningham has already been named a Preseason All-American and National Newcomer of the Year by CBS Sports. He was named the 2020 Naismith High School Player of the Year.

The list of 20 will be trimmed to 10 in February and whittled down to five in March. The award is set to be presented on April 9, 2021.

Oklahoma State’s season is set to tip off on Nov. 25.
