Chasing History: Justice Hill Enters Top 10 Career Rushing Yards List
We get to watch Justice jump-cut and stiff-arm his way through OSU’s record books.
In only two season and three games, Justice Hill is on or near every major Oklahoma State career rushing list.
Hill, a junior, entered the OSU’s Top 10 in career rushing yards this season. After the Boise State game, Hill is up to 2,931 career rushing yards, the ninth most in school history. Hill bumped Keith Toston (2,725 yards) out of OSU’s Top 10 and moved Gerald Hudson (2,924 yards) down to No. 10.
Joseph Randle (3,085 yards) is next in Hill’s sight lines. Above Randle, everyone else on OSU’s list played four seasons at OSU aside from Barry Sanders, who ranks fifth with 3,797 career rushing yards.

Hill is outside of the Cowboys’ Top 10 rushing touchdowns list, but he is primed to chew through the bottom of that list soon.
Hill has 25 career rushing touchdowns. Three former Cowboys are tied in ninth with 27, and Bob Fenimore sits alone in eighth with 28. Hill had 15 rushing scores last season, if he does that again as a junior, he’ll have 36 career rushing TDs, putting him in sixth between Kendall Hunter (37) and Tatum Bell (34). Hill has four rushing touchdowns so far this season.

At the start of the season, Hill ranked eighth in school history in yards per rush with a minimum of 200 attempts.
After corking off a few big runs this season, Hill’s career average is up to 5.77, good enough for sixth all time, behind Vernand Morency (5.9) and above Keith Toston (5.76). Hill has averaged a ridiculous 8.1 yards a carry this season.

Hill’s highest placing on these lists is on OSU’s career rushing yards per game for players who played in at least 20 games.
He has averaged 101.1 yards in his 29 career games. Above Hill are Pro Football Hall of Famers Barry Sanders (118.7) and Thurman Thomas (106.4) with the fifth pick in the 1978 NFL Draft Terry Miller (113.2) sandwiched between them.

As long as Hill gets three carries against Texas Tech, he will enter the Top 10 list on most carries in school history. As of now, Hill has 508 career carries, Nathan Simmons is 10th on the list with 511 and Gerald Hudson is ninth at 515 carries.
If Hill has 15 carries a game for the remainder of the season (including a bowl game), a number Gundy said he’d prefer to keep Hill around, Hill would finish his junior season with 658 carries putting him at sixth all time, between Kendall Hunter (708) and Tatum Bell (634). Thurman Thomas’ 989 carries will likely never be caught.
