Chasing History: Washington Closing in on Rashaun Woods

Mason Rudolph toppled Brandon Weeden’s all time passing touchdowns record this past weekend with his three-TD day in a win over West Virginia. He is now the all-time OSU leader in completions, passing TDs, total TDs and wins as a starting quarterback.

“He deserves all the records and everything that he breaks,” said Gundy. “He deserves them all. He’s been a fantastic player. His leadership and mental approach has been unbelievable, and that’s why he’s been such a special player for us at Oklahoma State.”

Rudolph now sits at 77 touchdowns two ahead of Weeden, and can now build on his lead in the record books with four games remaining on the regular season schedule, beginning with OU on Saturday.

QB Pass Yards Pass TDs
Mason Rudolph 11,580 77
Brandon Weeden 9,260 75
Mike Gundy 8,473 57
Zac Robinson 8,317 66
Josh Fields 6,090 55

Rudolph tossed two of his three TDs to No. 28 on Saturday, which moved him to 34 receiving touchdowns on his career. He needs to average two scores per game for the remainder of the regular season tie Rashaun Woods’ record.

As for the receiving yards list, it still remains in reach … barely. He need only average 97.2 yards per game in the regular season and a bowl game (not including a potential Big 12 title game) to pass Woods in that department.

WR Receiving Yards Receiving TDs
Rashaun Woods 4,414 42
James Washington 3,928 34
Justin Blackmon 3,564 40
Hart Lee Dykes 3,510 31
D’Juan Woods 2,751 20
Dez Bryant 2,425 29

Both records are attainable, given his consistency across the board this season as compared to last. Washington is averaging 125.6 yards per game this season, and exactly one score per game. So this record might come down to his final game(s) as a Cowboy.
