Chuba Hubbard is Still Weighing His 2020 Options
We’ll know something shortly, just not yet.
For those of us who spent our Friday patiently waiting for an answer from Chuba Hubbard concerning his plans for 2020, it looks like we’ll have to wait a few days longer. At least he gave us a little reprieve.
On Friday evening, a much-awaited tweet from the Cowboy running back did not include a definitive answer to OSU’s biggest offseason question. Rather, Chuba apologized for the delay to say that he’s still weighing his options. And who could blame him?
“Sorry for the wait everyone. I’ve been taking my time throughout this process. I’m trying to figure out the best decision for myself and my family! You guys will hear from me within the next few days.”
Last week’s Twitter movement that included most of Chuba’s teammates, his coaching staff and many other Oklahoma State figures tweeting out Canadian flag emojis seems now to have been more of a recruiting pitch and celebration of his historic 2019 season than a prediction for his 2020 plans.
A return by Chuba would be a huge boon for Oklahoma State who will also welcome back a former Biletnikoff finalist in Tylan Wallace and a dynamic — and a year more experienced —Â Spencer Sanders to round out an exciting Big 3.
Chuba finished his redshirt sophomore campaign with an FBS-leading 2,094 rushing yards and 21 touchdowns. The deadline for college players to declare for the 2020 NFL Draft is January 17.
